Check out their interview and music hosted by David Dye.

Voxhaul Broadcast: Although their MySpace page says “Unsigned” I find that hard to believe. These guys are too good to be overlooked for this long. Regardless if they are signed or not I suggest you check out their rock and soul sound and you will be hooked for sure.

OMG I know, I know but look at this thing, could you just die!!! I had to go with cavity causing sweet for once. Reminds me of a baby Esther but without the Mohawk.

When 2 guys are having an argument and one tells the other “S**K MY D**K!!!” It really just comes off as an angry invitation if you ask me.

Who said Golf was a safe sport. There’s a cactus attack waiting around every corner!

As I’ve stated before, although I am not professional on any subject I do consider myself  an authority on all topics. I’m taking the opportunity to share with you my predictions on who will win in the Oscar race this year. My choices are based on a well thought out process and I take into consideration not only performance but how annoying the individual may be, how hot the actors are, level of cheesiness, how many hankies I used if it was a tear-jerker or how many LOL’s it caused if it was a comedy. My winning choices are highlighted in BLUE.

Best Picture

Avatar

Avatar James Cameron and Jon Landau

My Opinion: Basically this was Pocahontas in blue and I thought it was pretty dumb and Disney should sue.

The Blind Side

The Blind Side Gil Netter, Andrew A. Kosove and Broderick Johnson

My Opinion: I thought that this was a good movie but a little too heavy on the heroism. It was a pretty little package with not enough rough patches.

District 9

District 9 Peter Jackson and Carolynne Cunningham

This movie not only grossed me out but bored me to tears. It was also one of 3 movies I saw this year with the human transformer theme in it. Not original.

An Education

An Education Finola Dwyer and Amanda Posey

I did not see this but I will say it’s good because my girl crush Carrie Mulligan is in it.

The Hurt Locker

The Hurt Locker Kathryn Bigelow, Mark Boal, Nicolas Chartier and Greg Shapiro

This movie was moving and intense and should win the Oscars.

Inglourious Basterds

Inglourious Basterds Lawrence Bender

Really loved this movie, completely original great acting, hot guys, lots of LOLs. Highly recommend!

Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire

Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire Lee Daniels, Sarah Siegel-Magness and Gary Magness

This was a very moving story about a neglected daughter raped by her father.  Practically a whole box of hankies for this tear-jerker.

A Serious Man

A Serious Man Joel Coen and Ethan Coen

I have tried 2 times to watch this movie but there’s problems with the video. So far it looks hysterical but I’ll have to get back to you on that.

Up

Up Jonas Rivera

Cute movie, animations rarely win.

Up in the Air

Up in the Air Daniel Dubiecki, Ivan Reitman and Jason Reitman

Really liked this movie. Thought it was sweet and simple but George annoys the crap out of me.

Actor in a Leading Role

Jeff Bridges

Jeff Bridges Crazy Heart

Hell YES! Sweet movie, a little slow but I’ve loved Jeff Bridges since The Last Picture Show and that is reason enough for him to win.

George Clooney

George Clooney Up in the Air

See explanation above.

Colin Firth

Colin Firth A Single Man

Didn’t see it and he will forever be Mr. Darcy to me.

Morgan Freeman

Morgan Freeman Invictus

Does not compute if he’s not the president.

Jeremy Renner

Jeremy Renner The Hurt Locker

Great performance, hot, badass in this movie just to new to the scene.

Actor in a Supporting Role

Matt Damon

Matt Damon Invictus

Did anyone even see this movie…

Woody Harrelson

Woody Harrelson The Messenger

…or this one

Christopher Plummer

Christopher Plummer The Last Station

Good lord, the beard. Where’s Captain Von Trapp is the wierdo with the beardo. Didn’t see it.

Stanley Tucci

Stanley Tucci The Lovely Bones

Completely creepy in this movie but the “between place” and the end ruined it and i can’t get past that.

Christoph Waltz

Christoph Waltz Inglourious Basterds

OH this guy was soooo good and definitely deserves to win

Actress in a Leading Role

Sandra Bullock

Sandra Bullock The Blind Side

Hands down she’s gonna win. Great performance, out of her element and everybody likes her.

Helen Mirren

Helen Mirren The Last Station

Yeah, the Oscars need new blood.

Carey Mulligan

Carey Mulligan An Education

Of course I wish she would win but again new comers don’t usually win but it has set the bar for her now.

Gabourey Sidibe

Gabourey Sidibe Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire

Good performance but I would not say award worthy.

Meryl Streep

Meryl Streep Julie & Julia

Come on Committee! Did you run out of Actresses to consider. Yes love her, this movie sucked.

Actress in a Supporting Role

Penélope Cruz

Penélope Cruz Nine

Tried to watch it, this movie was torcher. Sorry, not a Penelope Cruz fan, she bores me.

Vera Farmiga

Vera Farmiga Up in the Air

Absolutely love her. She’s a really superb actresses and glad to see her being recognized.

Maggie Gyllenhaal

Maggie Gyllenhaal Crazy Heart

I thought she called it in for this role. She bored me and her emotional moments and reactions have been done a million times.

Anna Kendrick

Anna Kendrick Up in the Air

Really great in this role. So good at uptight, young know it all with major OCD. Loved her.

Mo'Nique

Mo’Nique Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire

Best performance this year and the fact she’s a comedian by trade makes it that much more amazing.

Directing

Avatar

Avatar James Cameron

I think he’s an arrogant cocky bastard so no, he won’t win.

The Hurt Locker

The Hurt Locker Kathryn Bigelow

It’s all about the underdog sometimes, and I’d like to see her stick it to her ex.

Inglourious Basterds

Inglourious Basterds Quentin Tarantino

Great Director, hard to look at. Annoying in general.

Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire

Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire Lee Daniels

Don’t know anything about this dude although he did a great job directing.

Up in the Air

Up in the Air Jason Reitman

Another great Director and comes from a very talented family.

Those are my predictions, be sure to come back after the Oscars and see how I did. Please contribute and tell me who you think will win or why my predictions are lame. I love comments and a good constructive argument on useless subjects.

Since I’m kinda on a Fashion kick today I’d thought I’d post a podcast from The Moth.

The Moth is a series that features artists, celebrities, writers, everyday folk, etc.. who tell real life stories with no scripts in front of a live audience. It’s very entertaining.

This Moth episode is a story by Joan Juliet Buck, former Editor in Chief of Paris Vogue.

Feel free to suggest some of your favorite Podcasts in comments.

Thanks!

Check out their new single…so what do you think…please comment.

It’s tough getting to the top in Hollywood, but staying there’s even tougher. Just ask Harrison Ford

by Ed Potton
Nicole KIdman

Very few film stars reach that exalted place in which they can choose any project, pick up a pay cheque the size of the Sahara and watch the grosses flood in. Even fewer manage to retain that status throughout a career. Harrison Ford was one of the biggest players in Tinseltown until K-19: the Widowmaker lost more than $60m in 2002. Since then it’s been a steady decline: this week Ford stars in Extraordinary Measures, which has made $12m in the US out of an estimated $31m budget. Of his fellow big-hitters, Tom Cruise clings on to the top table with one hand, the other clutching a copy of L. Ron Hubbard’s collected works. Tom Hanks, too, although his forays into Dan Brown hokum have sacrificed credibility at the altar of box-office receipts. But the truth is that most of those who reach the peaks of cinematic dominance will one day have to relinquish them for the foothills of mediocrity, or worse, the valleys of obscurity. Sometimes they regain their former clout (see Katharine Hepburn, below). Sometimes, they regain it, only to lose it again — the John Travolta “double dip” effect. One thing’s for sure — if you end up in an Orange ad, there’s no going back. Don’t do it, Harrison.

1 Al Pacino What happened? He was the byword for cool and quality until about the time of Donnie Brasco (1997). Then came stinkers such as 88 Minutes and Righteous Kill, with Pacino starting to resemble Anne Robinson. Return to form? A version of King Lear — at least the script will be good.

2 Meg Ryan When Harry Met Sally made kooky Ryan the 1990s rom-com queen. Then came Proof of Life, an alleged fling with co-star Russell Crowe, and a box-office nosedive. Return to form? The explicit In the Cut was hyped… “We’ve got a headache,” said both critics and punters.

3 Burt Reynolds In the 1970s the biggest box-office star in the world. Nixed a career revival with the lauded Boogie Nights (1997) by firing his agent for getting him involved in the film. Also seen in Specsavers ads. Return to form? Nothing on the horizon. That’s not the name of a film.

4 Douglas Fairbanks Sr The original example of the fickleness of Hollywood. Zorro, the Thief of Baghdad, Musketeer, he could do no wrong in the silent era and became one of the best- loved people in the world. Return to form? Talkies came along. That was that.

5 Nicole Kidman Being Mrs Tom Cruise helped the Australian redhead’s steady rise from second-tier to leading lady, her status going off the top of the scale after their breakup with the likes ofMoulin Rouge! and The Hours a hit with audiences and Oscar voters alike. But consider this: setting aside Australia, her last nine films have failed to recoup at the US box office what they cost to make. Return to form? Australia’s scenic romantic sweep finally brought in the punters for her. A fine actress — a killer role is surely a matter of time.

6 Sylvester Stallone The Rocky movies made over a billion worldwide. But his remake of Get Carter didn’t do too well, and by 2001 his face wasn’t even on the US poster for DrivenReturn to form? August’s The Expendables, an action hero flick to end them all.

7 Katharine Hepburn An Oscar-winner at 25, the trouser wearing square peg was branded “box-office poison” after a series of flops, and passed over for Gone with the WindReturn to form? You betcha! Roared back with The Philadelphia Story and went on to win three more Oscars.

8 Eddie Murphy By the 1990s the likes of Vampire in Brooklynsaw the former king of blockbuster comedy’s name dip in value.Return to form? The Nutty Professor and Norbit now fill his coffers nicely. Beverly Hills Cop IV and The Incredible Shrinking Man remake unlikely to restore his kudos.

9 Bruce Willis Die HardPulp FictionThe Sixth Sense: he could do crowd-pleasers of every hue, but spent the past decade mired in low-key cameos and below-par thrillers. Surrogates sucked and flopped. Return to form? Cop Out looks like, er, a cop out.

10 John Travolta Salvaged from the death throes of the Look Who’s Talking franchise by Pulp Fiction, he foundered again, behind vile beard-plaits, in Battlefield Earth. Return to form?Signs of recovery in Pelham 1 2 3From Paris with Love bodes better than Wild Hogs 2.
