A Missed Connection

November 19, 2011

The following story is based on a real experience I had when I lived in NYC. Its set up as a “missed connections” ad you would find in the back of a magazine or weekly paper.

Location: Gramercy Park
Time: April 17th, 5pm

I was the jogger running around the park in a t-shirt and shorts with my headphones on.

You: walking in the opposite direction completely naked.

You: walking down the street confident and vulnerable.
Me: trying not to stare at your junk.

You: tall handsome flawless with the air of a successful businessman without the suit.

Me: intrigued, embarrassed, wondering if it would be inappropriate to slip my business card in your butt crack.

You: picked up by the local authorities.

Me: left with a missed encounter.

If this finds you, I hope our paths cross again.
Call me, I’ll cover the bail.

This makes total sense to me.

Everyone should get these for their loved ones for the Holidays. I really think it would inspire people to bring back the perm and the afro. If the world was filled with perms and afro’s the stars would align and all would be right in the universe.
