David Bowie “Rebel Rebel”
January 11, 2016
It’s always a shock to hear when a musician dies, but it was even more of shock to hear that David Bowie had passed. Since the cancelation of his concerts set for Madison Square Garden, the question about Bowie has been why and where. We now know that he was courageously fighting cancer for the last 18 months. Bowie will be remembered as a true pioneer as the father of Glam Rock and a major influence on the punk scene. For those old enough, we will always remember when this androgynous crooner first leaned into his condenser mic and delivered the unique and ground-breaking music that would change so many live. Thank you, Mr. Jones, Starman, Ziggy…you will forever be found in our hearts and music.
RIP David Bowie

David Bowie and Dave Gilmour “Comfortably Numb”
I remember seeing my sisters vinyl of Diamond Dogs and thinking this guy was a weirdo, but after hearing it I instinctively knew it was something special. My 10-year-old mind didn’t quite know how to process it but it’s a memory that is still at the forefront of my mind. The music, the look and the intrigue, were very powerful. Rest Well, Ziggy. You will be missed.
Dickey Betts and the Great Southern “Blue Sky”
January 8, 2016
Reflecting back on the first concert I ever went to. Peter Frampton, Lynyrd Skynyrd, J Geils band and Dickey Betts. June of 1977. I was 11. That was a lot of pot smoke floating around for an 11 yeat old. Not too shabby for a first concert. Four months later, Lynyrd Skynyrd’s plane crashed and we lost Ronnie Vanzant, Steve Gaines, and Kathy Gaines.
Netflix Documentary “The Wolfpack”
January 6, 2016
“The documentary The Wolfpack goes inside the lives of six brothers – Bhagavan, Govinda, Narayana, Mukunda, Krisna (now Glenn) and Jagadesh (now Eddie) – who allegedly grew up locked in a New York City apartment, rarely visiting the outside world.
According to the film, their father, Oscar, was the only one who had a key and would only allow the children to leave a few times a year at most.”
~People Magazine
These six boys are very intelligent, creative and unique individuals. Makes you question if it really was such a bad thing. I guess only time will tell.

My first recommendation is the documentary “Iris’. She’s a 93-year-old beloved fashion icon living and working in NYC. Yes, 93 and she is fabulous! A must watch for all the fashion lovers out there. You can find “Iris” on Netflix.
