Voxhaul Broadcast: Although their MySpace page says “Unsigned” I find that hard to believe. These guys are too good to be overlooked for this long. Regardless if they are signed or not I suggest you check out their rock and soul sound and you will be hooked for sure.

I love a good mystery! These are a series of video’s that are viral on the internet and apparently sending everyone into a tizzy on who it could be. There is some speculation that it may be Christina Aquilera, Britney Spears, or Lady GaGa.

The only obvious clues to me are the illustrations of a whale shark, an owl and a goat at the end of each video. The person also uploaded National Geographic type video’s on those subjects. I have just come across this so I don’t really know what the latest theories are but I’d love to hear what or who you think this could be.

I personally think it has a Nine Inch Nails or Marilyn Manson feel to it.
Or maybe it’s the answer to an even bigger mystery; the Billy Corigan and Jessica Simpson hook up.

Here is a related article

Some other clues could be the numbers that name each video.
These are the tags found on the you tube channel:

This person seems to think it’s Christina Aquilera…hmmmm….

3.2.09

2 more video’s have been uploaded.

monkey is a clue this week

a goat and strawberries, hmm. I think they distort her face on the film.

Listen here Roman Holiday

Check out their MySpace page and their video I Think It’s Her – I guarantee you will be singing that song all day after you hear it once. Love it!

The Duke and the King

XPN David Dye’s World Cafe Live

(As written for XPN)

When faced with a recent personal tragedy, former Felice Brothers multi-instrumentalist Simone Felice had to make some tough choices: After the death of his first child, he decided to leave the band he’d founded with his brothers. Along with longtime friend and Parliament contributor Robert “Chicken” Burke, Felice formed The Duke & The King.

The band’s minimalist folk wades in the waters of nostalgia while retaining contemporary touches. Felice’s lyrics pine for the past alongside light acoustic guitar and drizzles of ambient effects, and it works: Instead of the loud, raucous energy of Felice’s former band, The Duke & The King favors contemplative ballads and rich storylines. The duo’s first album is titled Nothing Gold Can Stay.
