Music isn’t just background noise—it’s the heartbeat of our lives. It moves through us like electricity, shaping memories, igniting revolutions, and anchoring us to moments in time. Its power is raw, spiritual, and at times, unexplainable.

I often find myself tracing the landmarks of my life not through dates or events, but through albums and songs. Music molded me in childhood, carried me through joy and heartbreak, pulled me back from the edge—and, in darker moments, even pushed me closer to it. It’s been both savior and saboteur. Through it, I’ve found kindred souls, lost a few battles, and fallen—hard—into love.

There’s a strange, beautiful thing that happens when a certain song begins to play. In an instant, I’m transported. I feel it all again: the rush, the ache, the light. One memory, seared into me like fire, was the night I traveled to New York City to see a band at Madison Square Garden. I remember the train ride, the electric energy of the crowd, the music vibrating through the floor, lifting us all into something divine.

But here’s the twist—the music that soundtracked my journey wasn’t even the band I went to see. It was something else almost entirely. Yet it synced with that night so perfectly, it became the unofficial score to an unforgettable chapter in my life.

I’ve been to hundreds of shows, festivals, even Live Aid. But that night… that night was different. Over 15 years have passed, and still, the memory is vivid, the feeling undimmed. The music wrapped around me like a second skin, and I knew in that moment: this is what it means to be alive.

That’s the alchemy of music—it doesn’t just play, it possesses. It transforms ordinary days into sacred ones. And if I’m lucky, I’ll catch that feeling again. That heart-stopping, soul-stirring beauty. Because once you’ve felt it, you spend the rest of your life chasing it.
