Washed Out is the operational alias for Atlanta, GA’s Ernest Greene, and today, July 12th, we at Sub Pop Records are releasing the first Washed Out full-length entitled, Within and Without which was produced by Ben Allen, who, among a great many other things, co-produced Animal Collective’s Merriweather Post Pavillion, Gnarls Barkley’s St. Elsewhere and Deerhunter’s Halcyon Digest. In 2009 Washed Out released two critically-acclaimed EPs; Life of Leisure (Mexican Summer) and High Times (Mirror Universe Tapes). WASHED OUT // Influences Mix (BBC Radio 6 Mix Series)
Ernest Greene of Washed Out put together a couple of mixes for the BBC Radio 6 Mix Series. One geared toward his influences and the other geared more toward music that he’s been listening to as of late. I really dig the influences mix as a lot of those songs are old favorites of mine as well. Song selections include DJ Shadow, 10cc, Boards of Canada, Bruce Hirdler and many more. Definitely worth a listen.
