The Beauty of StumbleUpon

DAY 1-Monday July 26, 2010

After my last failed attempt at quitting Twitter for 5 days, which then became 3 days, I’m trying another go at it. I’ll be traveling around a lot in the next couple of weeks so I’m counting on this to be much easier than last time. I don’t feel a need to depend on my Twitter acct’s to post my articles because lately I’ve done just fine without them. I’m averaging about 20,000 hits a month now. Sites like StumbleUpon, Digg, and Reddit are great resources. Basically this is a test since I’m feeling a need to cut back on Twitter and disconnect from some of my “hobbies” that are way too time-consuming. Time to concentrate on more important things! I’ll be keeping a daily journal on my progress so stay tuned! This should be interesting.

But just so you know, I will be back on Twitter during the next series of KOL concerts that I’ll be attending so I can tweet the shows as much as I can.
Aug 5 in Camden
Aug 8 in Scranton
Sep 8 in Hershey

Step 1- I’m leaving the house!

Ciao!

Hour 2:

Must get over the urge to go on Twitter every time a passing thought like: “Omg, my computer is so slow right now!” I mean seriously…my urge to tweet this is far greater then anyone’s interest.

Hour whatever…

I get the impression people prefer me off Twitter. My blog is surpassing my all time high for hits. Over 2000 today, wow! Actually, i really don’t know if that’s good but it’s good for me. It’s been one of those days where all I wanted to do is bitch on Twitter, so I figure I’m doing you all a service by staying away. I’ll spare you here too. I did have a full on hypoglycemic moment though. I was sure it was some hardcore DTs coming on. Nothing a piece of chocolate couldn’t cure, don’t worry about me…..I’ll be fine. *sigh*….no really….I’m fine.

What the…!!!!

What the heck is going on!! Clearly me abandoning Twitter was a blessing in disguise!! Or maybe my thanks should be geared towards Homer Simpson and Growing up on an abandoned Highway. You all seem to love those posts today bringing me over 3000 hits in one day. Bless all your quirky little souls.

RECAP of Day 1: Well only one false alarm of what first seemed like a complete melt down but ended up being a low sugar incident. The benefits of the day, I unexpectedly had some really great email conversations with some old friends. Emailing is a lost art…not really but when one of you is in the states and the other is in Canada its clearly the cheapest exchange. Besides it was Jacob and a face to face is a bit spooky right now. I don’t want to run the risk of being touched by him. At least not until the last remains of the “Lost” phenomenon are no longer in the air. My dear friend Mark is filming in Montreal right now and  will be playing a vampire in a new series on Syfy called Being Human. He does evil good! Funny though, he’s one of the wittiest and most compassionate guys I know.

Check out some of Mark’s other work

DAY 2-Tuesday July 27, 2010

Well today was a lot better but NOT good. So many witty thoughts running through my head that I want to share. I hate denying my followers my wit. It must be torture for you all. Anyway, someone told me Doc tweeted about getting his batteries charged and I’m a bit confused cuz you’d think Jared would at least let him borrow his extension cord. Siblings can be so mean.

For those of you who don’t know what I’m talking about it’s just me making my best efforts to spread the rumor that Jared Followill of Kings of Leon is really a robot. When performing he doesn’t sweat. His bro’s and co are up there sweating buckets and he’s fresh as a daisy. That’s not human and don’t get me started on the wigs! (spread the word people).

For those readers who don’t know who KOL is or not aware of my obsession….for shame!

Day 3 July 28, 2010

It’s amazing how much you accomplish when you go on a Twitter break. Here’s a pic of my make shift office.

Taken with Hipstamatic for IPhone. This is probably one of my favorite apps for Iphone. The results give the feel of analog photography from the 70’s and are made to look overexposed and vintage. You can buy packages of lens’ for different effects. My favorite lens is John S with Ina’s 1969 film. Check it out here.

Have fun!

…and for my non-tweet but kinda like a tweet moment-Watching that stripper show “Toddler’s and Tiara’s”.

Day 4: July 29, 2010

I cannot tell a lie. I may or may not have cheated a little. I have a very good reason though. I had to share some very important information with my Twitter friends. It was inevitable. I didn’t talk to anyone and I didn’t even go on Twitter to Tweet the post, so technically I did not cheat. After reading my post you’ll understand my reasoning. Matt F’s Shirt

Back to the break!
