Robin Pecknold’s (founder of Fleet Foxes) first album given to my husband when he was working at Starbucks in Kirkland, WA and serving Robin soy chai. He called himself “Robin Noel Vaas” at the time and the fact that he was only 16 when he made this music blows my mind.

For this #musicmonday I thought I’d post some hometown punk rock. This video was filmed in Eastern State Penitentiary which was the first solitary confinement prison. Al Capone resided there for a while and it’s also where they filmed 12 Monkeys. Zipperhead was a popular punk rock store in the 80s on South Street. Unfortunately it no longer exists.

I take much pride in being a Lefty, so when I saw this on Buzzfeed I had to share.
Well right off the bat it seems I fall into a unique group since I am a left-handed woman.
As for the genius thing, well I am a genius when it comes to wit! I’m sure you all agree.
My uniqueness continues since I am the only left-handed person in my family. Both my parents are righties and I only have 1 cousin who is a lefty but her father, who is of no relation to me, was a lefty (but made to write right-handed as a child).
I’m not an alcoholic but that’s because when I drink I sweat like Arnold Schwarzenegger in divorce court. If I didn’t I’d totally be an alcoholic.
I use composition notebooks.
I am a rock star when it comes to Tetris, Plants vs Zombies and Bubbles.
I am a left-handed mouse user but a right-handed scissor user.
I read that the life span of lefties was shorter because we are accident prone due to living in a right-hand world. Yup, the right-hand man is still holding us down.
What fun! I’m sure your day is a little brighter now that you know how I deal with being a lefty.
Oh, and being that it IS Wednesday, Julian Dorio from The Whigs is a lefty. : )
