April 28, 2011
So if you read my last post, I’ve gone ahead and created my own SomeCard and used the Followill’s as my inspiration. Check them out and make your own! It’s fun! The link to the ‘Create Your Own’ Somecard page is in my previous post.
I’ll be making more for sure!

Somecards make me laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh…Do you have any favorites not listed here? Post in comments. They also have a “Create Your Own” feature. Send me any cards you make and I’ll post the best one’s here. I will do a few myself I think.
These are from cards that are available now.
My bestie and I just had this convo the other day!
This I can relate to but lets face it, I’m more than slightly funnier.
That would have to be someone reeeeaalllly special.

The Head and The Heart: Record Store Day (video)
April 27, 2011
KEXP and Sub Pop just released this great video of “The Head and the Heart” performing on Record Store Day.
“Fans lined up and filled both locations to capacity, (800 fans at Easy Street and 450 at Sonic Boom) with lines outside both stores to eager to see Seattle’s fastest rising band. Working closely with the folks at KEXP to capture these performances we now present you an insider look into a day in the life of Seattle’s own The Head and the Heart.”
This young band has hit the ground running and are taking over the Seattle scene. The band is still in its toddler stage at 2 years but they’ve been a whirlwind and it won’t be stopping anytime soon. From the get-go when my buddies at Sub Pop sent me their first single I was hooked. Check out this concert review I did from last winters performance at The Electric Factory in Philadelphia.

This band is blowing up quickly, don’t miss the ride.

Guilty Pleasures
April 27, 2011
Thought it would be fun to start a new thing and throw some guilty pleasure songs on my blog every once-in-awhile. We all have them, that song that reminds you of a certain time in your life. The song you sang into your hairbrush as a kid. So tell me what is your guilty pleasure. I may just post it and give you a shout out.
Today’s guilty pleasure is George Michael’s, Freedom. The video where the “Supermodel” was born. It was either this or “Father Figure”, which is also awesome but Freedom has that “Hell Ya, Lets Dance”, factor at the end which I love.

True beauty and legend Poly Styrene succumbed to her battle with cancer. She will be greatly missed. She was a pioneer and a great inspiration for many young people in music and in life.

Twilight Singers (Audio)
April 24, 2011
Greg Dulli‘s (formerly from Afghan Whigs) Twilight Singers released their 5th album after a 5 year hiatus. Their new album Dynamite Steps is out now.

Fleet Foxes: This Seattle band was first called Pineapple, but they had to change the name since there was another local band going by Pineapple. Frontman Robin Pecknold told The Independent that Fleet Foxes was “evocative of some weird English activity like fox hunting” – and it definitely fits their sound more than a tropical fruit.
